Harrison Hot Springs Resort, Friday late afternoon

Steven and Llewellyn had gone for a hike on Hicks Lake Loop, taking longer than the suggested time since they'd brought a picnic with them to enjoy along the way.

Once done, they headed back to their hotel room. There Steven had arranged for a fruit platter and flowers to be waiting.

Yes, their anniversary had been yesterday. But that didn't mean they were limited to celebrating on that day. After all, here they were taking the entire weekend.

"I rather enjoyed that," Steven said as they came into the room. "Our hike."

He figured Llewellyn could notice the gifts in his own time.

"Thank you." Steven shivered pleasantly at Llewellyn's touch. Then he chuckled softly. "All this and it's only the anniversary of us meeting."

"Setting high standards for our proper anniversary, I suppose," Watts mused.

"I like knowing that we're both so happy for it," Steven said. "It's nice to appreciate the sort of small things as much as the big."

"We were friends, first, before we started properly courting," Watts said. "That's worth celebrating. Our friendship means a great deal to me."

"Me as well," Steven said. "I like that you enjoy these things as much as I do. Er - the celebrating the big and small moments, that is. I know you - er - well, seemed you were enjoying yourself just now."

Watts laughed. "I most certainly was. Enjoying this as well," he added.

Steven smiled, feeling warm inside at seeing Llewellyn laughing and happy. "I did too. In case you wondered."

"It did seem apparent," Watts smiled at him, finger idly drawing patterns over Steven's skin.

Steven nuzzled Llewellyn's cheek. "You do a good job making me happy. In all ways."

"I'm glad," Watts said. "You deserve happiness. I am glad I can provide that for you."

"You do," Steven said. He pressed a kiss to the spot he'd been nuzzling. "You've brought joy and warmth and safety to my life."

"As you have to mine in return," Watts said. "More than I ever thought I had any right to."

"You've every right to be happy," Steven said. "You're a good person, Llewellyn Watts."

"I do try my best to be," Watts acknowledged.

"That's all anyone can do, isn't it?" Steven said. "Try. Up to others to let us know if we get it right."

"And I must be doing well, to have you in my life."

"You're doing well far as I'm concerned," Steven said. "Thoughtful, caring, romantic..."

"It's your opinion that matters most to me," Watts said. "Even if you are a flirt."

"My opinion of you is the highest," Steven said. He lifted his hand up, stretching it as far as it could go. He then looked from it to Llewellyn. "Higher than that but we're lying down."

"Mmm," Watts hummed. "And I'm nice and comfortable. No getting up."

Well. They would have to, eventually, but in the meantime... cuddling.

"You are nice and comfortable," Steven said, as though agreeing with him even though he was approaching this description from another angle. "Glad you understand you can stay as long as you like."

"Forever," Watts said without hesitation. And then: "Er. Not in this physical location. But- with you. I'd like that to be forever, please."

"I'm all right for you being in my life forever," Steven told him. "You on top of me perhaps we'll change in a bit. But I like you there now. You're a good blanket."

"So you've said before," Watts noted fondly.

"You've only gotten better with experience," Steven said, grinning at him.
