As the message had said, come Saturday morning it was time for those interested in the rescue mission to gather around the Hermit Shack and prepare. And listen to an awesome speech )

[Open to rescuers or those who'd like to observe. Everything that happens outside of the House is okay for broadcast, inside NFB please.]

Things were getting interesting. To begin with, yesterday someone had tried to push past the House's barrier and that was not on. No one and nothing got in or out without the House's say so, and the House had not said so.

But this meant that perhaps there were those nearby starting to notice what was going on. Luckily so far no one who could cause real trouble. Only one type of person could do that and near as the House could tell there were none of those around.

Still. Worth paying attention to. Especially since the House couldn't move while it had guests inside. And of course the House could spit its guests out and then leave but it didn't want to. It liked its guests, and all the emotions they brought with them.

And this round... well suffice it to say perhaps some proved worth watching more than others.

Curious.

So no. Not going anywhere, thank you. Not until it had to. In the meanwhile it would stay right where it was and watch and wait.

And maybe invite another guest inside. If one happened to come by, of course.

[Open. Post and comments NFB, please.]

The House hadn't been in Fandom for a full week yet and it was having a wonderful time! It had four whole guests now (well, five if you counted the subject of some ankle high signs around town).

Each guest was interesting and different and could be played with in their own way. What more could the House want, really?

Well, more, obviously. It was still so empty inside. More guests were clearly needed. Hopefully another would come by.

[Open! Signs are fine for broadcast, otherwise post and comments are NFB please.]

Three whole visitors now! This was a very good week and, quite frankly, location as far as the House was concerned.

Now there were those who might argue that three people trapped for the rest of their lives was more than enough but was it, really? Wouldn't it be rude to be so unwelcoming to anyone else who passed by?

The House was many things but it was not rude. It would absolutely welcome another visitor, if the visitor was the right sort.

Picky but not rude.

Monday had been a pretty good day, actually. The House had had a visitor and it got to test out a new narrative idea it'd been working on for building up tension and fear. The House didn't know if it would call that particular version done but the testing process was as much a part of things as the idea stage. The important thing was to not be afraid to try.

The visitor was still inside of course. No one left the House if the House didn't want them to. Just as no one entered the House if the House didn't want them to. The House was a very big believer in strong boundaries. Some people had to go to therapy to learn those so, you know, the House was kind of ahead of the game here.

There were things the House did still need to work on though. Perhaps enticing another visitor if the right one happened to stop by. Perhaps keeping out any interlopers who tried to take the House's new friends away.

Or perhaps just enjoying a nice day out. The weather wasn't too bad after all. Sometimes even a House enjoyed a quiet day in an otherwise empty and increasingly spooky feeling spot in the woods.

Only time would tell.

[And we're good to go. Post and comments NFB please.]

After a day spent preparing, decorating, and safely putting Raphael over in Marc and Steven's flat, the party was ready. Blue and white streamers were hung up along the walls, along with a banner reading "HAPPY HANUKKAH" hanging over the door to the balcony so it could be seen as soon as people came in to the flat.

There was music playing. A selection that, as one might guess, Steven had put together to help set the mood. And, he hoped, to show that there was more to Hanukkah music than one well known and slightly meta breaking novelty song.

The dining room was set up as the main area for the food, and there was a lot of it. There was plastic cutlery as well as plenty of paper plates, bowls, and napkins with images on them from menorahs, to dreidels, to a cheerfully smiling sufganiyah which is possibly the cutest thing anyone has ever seen but don’t take our word for it just look at the picture omg.

Drinks and cups were set up in the kitchen. There was a moddable selection of good wines as well as also moddable non-alcoholic drinks including grape juice and sodas. Next to each bottle of wine was a card in Llewellyn's handwriting suggesting which of the food offerings the wine paired best with (those who'd seen his handwriting before would hopefully appreciate how much care he took to make them legible). It was possible that Steven found this to be the one of the most endearing things Llewellyn had ever done, but then again it was early in their relationship so the record could very well be broken at some point.

The living room was set up for mingling, with some of the dining room chairs from Marc and Steven's flat brought over to provide extra places to sit. A table was set up by the closed bedroom door with plenty of dreidels and gelt for anyone who wanted to play. And, of course, the balcony was available if anyone needed fresh air.

The door to the flat was open. Steven and Llewellyn were there. All that was needed were the guests!

[Threads are up! As the posters around town say, all adults are invited, so feel free to come on in! Enjoy!]
